Former senior political advisor remembered

BEIJING - A symposium was held in Beijing on Monday to mark the centennial of the birth of Wang Enmao, a former senior official of China's political advisory body.
Yu Zhengsheng, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) attended the event along with 200 representatives to remember Wang, a former vice chairman of the CPPCC National Committee.
Du Qinglin, vice chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, called for efforts to learn from the older generation of revolutionists, promote their spirit, and strive for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
Born in 1913, Wang served as the vice chairman of the 6th and 7th CPPCC National Committees. He was conferred the rank of lieutenant general in 1955.
He died in 2001 at the age of 88.
