Xi extends condolences to Obama over tornado

BEIJING - Chinese President Xi Jinping has extended condolences to his US counterpart Barack Obama for the casualties and losses caused by a massive tornado.
In a message sent on Tuesday, Xi expressed his deep sympathy with the US government and people for the great life and property losses resulted from the powerful tornado.
Chinese State Councilor Yang Jiechi and Foreign Minister Wang Yi also sent condolences to US State Secretary John Kerry respectively over the disaster.
A devastating tornado ripped through the US state of Oklahoma on Monday, killing at least 24 people and injuring 237 others.
