A 62-year-old man was killed by two dogs on May 28, and the owner of the dogs was arrested, according to a Guizhou news website.
The website, www.gog.com.cn, said that two unleashed Dogo Argentino, which are good hunters, ran to and attacked the victim, who was on a road in Zunyi, Southwest China's Guizhou province.
The two dogs dragged his body for 10 meters to a ditch by the road, the report said.
Neighborhood residents heard the victim calls for help and called police. But police could do nothing to subdue the two fierce dogs and had to call the owner, who got the dogs two hours after the attack.
The victim was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead. A witness said the victim had been badly mauled.
The dog owner has been detained on suspicion of negligent homicide. The investigation is continuing.
