Du Jiahao elected governor of Hunan province

CHANGSHA - Du Jiahao was elected governor of Central China's Hunan province on Friday during the second session of the 12th Hunan Provincial People's Congress, the local legislature.
Du, born in July 1955, has held high-ranking posts in Shanghai and Northeast China's Heilongjiang province.
He was transferred to Hunan in March as deputy secretary of the Hunan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
He was appointed Hunan's acting governor on April 11.
Xu Shousheng, secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, was elected director of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People's Congress at the same meeting.
