KUNMING - Two people were seriously injured in a fire after a butane leak in a factory on Monday night in Yanshan county in Southwest China's Yunnan province, said government authorities on Tuesday.
At about 8:40 pm on Monday, a fire occurred after a butane tank leaked during testing of some equipment in a workshop of Yunnan Leader Bio-Technology Co Ltd, said the Yanshan government's press department.
The two injured people have been sent to a local hospital.
All workers and residents living within 2 km of the plant have been relocated.
During the emergency rescue, more severe leaks occurred, caused greater risks of fire.
However, as of Tuesday morning, the fire has been controlled and rescuers are conducting cooling treatment on the butane tank.
An investigation into the accident is under way.
