Rain is expected in most parts of the country, with the National Meteorological Center issuing a blue alert for medium to heavy rain on Thursday.

The weather report released by the center on Thursday said torrential rain is expected in Henan, Anhui, Zhejiang, Fujian, Jiangxi, Hunan, Guizhou, Guangdong, Yunnan and Sichuan provinces and Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region on Friday.

The Xinjiang and Inner Mongolia autonomous regions, Hebei province and northeastern parts are also likely to see mild to heavy rain and strong winds from Friday to Sunday, according to the report.

The meteorological authority uses a color-coded weather warning system with red being the most severe, followed by orange, yellow and blue.
