Official probed for disciplinary violation

Guo Yongxiang, head of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles' branch in Sichuan province, was investigated for seriously violating discipline, according to the Communist Party of China Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, Xinhua News Agency reported on Sunday.
Guo, born in 1949, was from Linyi, Shandong province. He worked as deputy governor of Sichuan from May 2007 to Jan 2008. He was also a member of the 11th National People's Congress, China's legislative body. In Feb 2009, he was elected as the chairman of the Sichuan branch of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles.
