A 22-year-old university graduate in Zhengzhou, Henan province, has been turned down many times by potential employers due to his appearance, the Zhengzhou Evening News reported on Monday.

Yang Chaofan, from Shangqiu city in Henan, said he has facial osteofibroma, a rare disease in which bones grow outward, giving his face a twisted appearance. His parents have borrowed more than 100,000 yuan ($16,300) to fight the disease.

Yang said he wants to get a job to support himself and relieve his family of its financial burden.
