A photo of a woman carrying a man on her back on a flooded street in Hubei province is an Internet hit and seems to suggest the age of chivalry is dead.
Uploaded on Monday morning, the photo on weibo.com shows a woman wearing a red dress carrying a man on her back as floodwater surges around her ankles in Wuhan, capital of Hubei province.
"Girls nowadays are so strong," the caption reads, rather tongue in cheek.
The image has been forwarded more than 9,000 times and has drawn nearly 3,000 comments as of Tuesday morning.
"I thought that maybe the man was afraid of getting his shoes and trousers wet, so he let the woman carry him on her back," a micro-blogger dryly commented.
Another photo shows stranded passengers in a flooded bus being rescued by passers-by in the Hongshan district of Wuhan. The passengers were transferred from the bus to dry land with the help of a plastic box.
