Wang Fengjun, Asia's tallest man measuring 2.55 meters, has been admitted to Henan Asia Pacific Hospital to receive free treatment for avascular necrosis (AVN), a condition he has suffered for a long time in Zhengzhou, Henan province, on July 6, 2013. His huge body, which once earned him roles in TV shows, was not always a lucky charm. Wang, a native of Henan province, was diagnosed AVN, a condition that occurs when bone tissue dies because of too little blood supply, in 2009, and found it hard to stand. The disease is believed to be related to prolonged and repeated high pressure to his legs. The death of his mother in April was a further blow to his poverty-stricken family. Now hope has been regained following the good news that the hospital agreed to waive his bills. [Photo/CFP]
