Authorities in Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province, plan to develop a number of high-end health and comprehensive medical projects in the next few years.
Up to eight projects, with a combined investment of around 44 billion yuan ($7.2 billion), will be built in the city's Huadu, Baiyun, Conghua, Luogang and Nansha districts, and Zengcheng, a county-level city.
The projects will feature high-end medical services, medical research and technology, and healthcare services.
For example, a molecular medicine industrial center, with an investment of 2.15 billion yuan, will be built in Luogang district, providing molecular biology and gene sequencing tests.
