The border-control police in Jiangsu province have captured a wanted member of a South Korean gang and transferred him to South Korean police, the Jiangsu provincial border control department said on Tuesday.
Yeom Deok-sung took a South Korean ship and arrived in Nantong, Jiangsu province, on Feb 16. He then took a small boat to Qingdao, Shandong province and hid in Weihai.
Working with Shandong police, Jiangsu police immediately set up a special team, and one week later they detained him and other suspects in Shandong province, the Jiangsu border control department said.
According to South Korean police, Yeom Deok-sung was a member of South Korean triad gang. Between November 2010 and May, he allegedly opened gambling websites with gang members and attacked their competitors.
