A man in Xinfeng county, Guangdong province, rescued five people from a car that caught fire on a highway on July 17, Guangzhou Daily reported.
Zheng Qizhong, who works for a local television station, was driving his car back from a business trip to Guangzhou when he saw a car on fire in the Xinfeng section of the 105 National Highway. He rushed to rescue the people inside.
"I have done the best I can, but I still regret that I failed to rescue the two passengers in the front seats of the car," Zheng told media on Thursday.
A 4-month-old child and his mother died in the accident.
