As Lithuania taking the EU presidency on July 1, many challenges and huge responsibilities are awaiting the Baltic country, emphasizes Algirdas BUTKEVICIUS, the Lithuanian Prime Minister, during an exclusive interview with China Daily in Vilnius early in July.
The PM explains that while the main objective is to restore people’s confidence in the EU, Lithuanian government has set its main working area for their presidency as building a credible Europe, growing Europe and open Europe.
Talking about the country’s plan to join the euro zone, the PM says that Lithuania has made the decision to adopt the Euro in 2015.
Algirdas BUTKEVICIUS was appointed as the Prime Minister in November 2012.
