The China-US strategic relationship is moving forward in a positive way with the "shirt-sleeves" summit between Presidents Xi Jinping and Barack Obama and the just concluded fifth round of the US-China Strategic and Economic Dialogue (S&ED).
Despite existing mistrust and differences, the tone in the recent dialogue between the two nations was cooperative and pragmatic, with a serious hope to establish a major powerful and stable relationship beneficial to both sides. Realizing that historical collisions can and should be avoided, both China and the US have made a commitment to work any differences out together.
