Beijing is staging 25 classic works in the city's major theaters for two weeks until Aug 25.
The works include Oliver Twist from the Shanghai Drama Art Center and portrayals of modern life (For Rent, Fabio and Crazy, Relationships) to 6 Chapters from a Floating Life, a Beijing opera.
The Ministry of Culture selected the works from theatres across the country in a bid to promote theater attendance and development.
