5,706 cases of dereliction of duty probed

Prosecutors nationwide have probed 5,706 cases of dereliction of duty in the first half of the year, with 250 officials at and above county level investigated.
Procuratorial authorities attached great importance to the cases that harmed the people's economic, political and personal interests, with 8,048 people investigated on allegations of dereliction of duty from January to late June, the Procuratorial Daily reported on Thursday.
A total of 706 officials were investigated for dereliction of duty in 467 cases that related to work safety, said the report.
Procuratorial authorities will keep cooperating with the public security, customs and work safety supervision departments in probing cases of dereliction of duty, according to the report.
