SHEXIAN, Anhui - Five people were killed and another two injured in a road accident on Sunday morning in East China's Anhui province, local police said.

The accident occurred at about 1:50 am on Sunday, when a car collided with a truck on the section of the NO 215 provincial road in Shexian county.

Three people were dead on the spot, and four others were sent to hospital for treatment, but two of them died after treatment.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
