A woman in Zhuzhou, Hunan province, gave birth to a 5.7 kg baby boy recently, chinanews.com reported on Tuesday.
The mother, 30, surnamed Song, tipped the scales at 150 kg before the baby was delivered.
She said she had suffered from overweight even as a teenager.
She had previously given birth to a son who weighed 3.5 kg.
After becoming pregnant with her second child, she found she was putting on weight beyond the weight of the child she was carrying.
The baby was delivered by cesarean section. Mother and son are both in good condition.
