Shenyang, capital city of Liaoning province, will start a drunken driving intervention project in October, according to local government.
The project will be a joint campaign put into effect by the public security bureau, banks and other government offices. According to the project, a driver with many drunken driving violations on his or her record will be restricted from obtaining a bank loan or insurance for one year.
The project will last for two years. Shenyang is the third city in China after Nanjing and Xi'an to implement the project.
