Five people received organs from a 4-year-old boy who was declared brain dead after he drank hard liquor in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, on Aug 30.
The boy was with his grandmother at their rented house while his parents were working. He consumed the alcohol in the morning after his grandmother drank some and went to cook, the Information Times reported.
His grandmother found the boy lying on the ground.
The boy was sent to a hospital in the afternoon for treatment, after his condition worsened. He was confirmed brain dead on Sept 11.
His parents decided to donate his liver, kidneys and corneas.
