The 10 standards for a prospective son-in-law widely spread on the Internet these days have terrified many Internet users, Shaanxi Broadcast and TV Station reported.
The harsh standards include owning an apartment of at least 100 square meters, a car worth 200,000 yuan ($33,000) or more and at least a 100,000-yuan deposit under the bride's name.
Other requirements are a grand wedding, imported baby formula, at least one trip per year and celebrating festivals with the parents-in-law.
Some people said such standards are a mission impossible and joked that mothers-in-law contributed to the soaring housing price in the country.
