Jinan airport helps passengers on delayed flights

Jinan Yaoqiang International Airport in the provincial capital of Shandong, set up a special service to deal with passengers on delayed flights, Beijing Morning News reported on Monday.
In case of a delay, a member of staff will keep passengers updated with the latest flight information, contact the airlines concerned and arrange accommodation for passengers, with priority going to the elderly and children.
The industry claimed a flight punctuality rate of 71.73 percent from January to May this year, which is a drop of 3.35 percentage points over the year.
In 2012, 630,000 flights involving Chinese airlines failed to take off or land on schedule, accounting for 25.2 percent of the total 2.5 million flights, according to the Civil Aviation Administration of China’s annual industry report for 2012. The rate in 2011 was 22.8 percent.
