Former official in Anhui gets 15 yrs for bribery

A former official in Huangshan, Anhui province, was sentenced to 15 years' imprisonment for bribery, Xinhua News Agency reported on Tuesday.
Wang Jianshe, a former member of the standing committee of the Communist Party of China's Huangshan city committee and secretary of the city committee's political and legal committee, was found to have accepted bribes of more than 5 million yuan ($819,000) from 56 people from 1987 to 2012.
The intermediate people's court in Bengbu, another city in the province, heard the case in March and delivered the judgment on Tuesday.
In addition to imprisonment, Wang's personal property worth 600,000 yuan was confiscated. Wang said in court that he will not appeal.
