The family planning authority in Wuxi, Jiangsu province, reported no progress after a five-month investigation into a famous film director who, allegedly, flouted the family planning policy, the Modern Express reported on Thursday.
In May, well-known Chinese movie director Zhang Yimou was reported to have at least seven children and faced fines of 160 million yuan ($26 million) for violating the family planning policy. On May 8, Wuxi city family planning committee responded that it had started an investigation into the case.
Five months later the family planning committee stated, when contacted by the media, that no progress had been made in the case.
