A media group in Guangdong province is to set up a team to supervise New Express in changing its publishing process after one of the newspaper's reporters was detained for damaging a business' reputation with fake articles, the group said on Tuesday.
Yangcheng Evening News group said it has paid great attention to the case of Chen Yongzhou, a New Express journalist arrested for harming Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science and Technology Development, a Changsha-based company, through numerous fabricated stories, the group said.
Reporters and editors at Guangzhou-based New Express will be placed under strict supervision, while the paper's publication process will be reviewed, the group added.
