Xi's speeches on reform published

BEIJING - A book gathering selected remarks by President Xi Jinping on the deepening of overall reform and opening up has been published, according to a statement from the central authorities on Wednesday.
The book falls into 12 sections, extracted from Xi's speeches, written instructions and comments between Nov. 15, 2012 and April 1, 2014.
Some of the remarks are made public for the first time.
In the book, Xi said the general objective for reform is improving the socialist system with Chinese characteristics and promoting the modernization of the state governance system and governance capacity.
Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, reiterated that the market should exercise a decisive role in distributing resources.
He said the reform should promote social equity and justice, and improve the well-being of the people.
