One killed, 5 trapped in China coal mine flooding

SHIJIAZHUANG -- One miner was killed and five others remain trapped in a flooded coal mine in North China's Hebei province, local authorities said Tuesday.
The accident happened in a shaft in Xiandewang coal mine in Xingtai city at 7:30 pm on Monday when 14 miners were working underground. One was killed and eight managed to escape while the other five remain trapped, according to the work safety administration of Xingtai.
The rescue work in going on. The cause of the accident is still unknown.
