Former senior Shaanxi official prosecuted for taking bribes

BEIJING - Former senior official in Northwest China's Shaanxi province Zhu Zuoli has been prosecuted for taking bribes, and abuse of power, the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) announced Wednesday.
Langfang People's Procuratorate of China's Hebei Province has completed its investigation into Zhu and filed charges with the Langfang Intermediate People's Court, according to a SPP statement.
Prosecutors believe Zhu, former vice chairman of Shaanxi provincial committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, took advantage of his posts to seek profit for others, accepted a huge amount in bribes. Zhu should be charged with the crime of taking bribes.
The Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China (CPC) announced its investigation over Zhu in February 2014. Zhu was removed from his post and was expelled from the CPC in August 2014.
