3. Community hospitals first choice for insurance in Guangzhou
Patients will receive higher health care reimbursement if they see a doctor in community hospitals in Guangzhou, South China's Guangdong province, as stipulated in a new health care regulation.
New applicants for basic health care insurance should select community hospitals as designated ones for treatment before bigger hospitals of county level or above.
The insured will receive 80 percent of payment if they are treated in community hospitals, 55 percent if they are transferred from community hospitals to bigger ones within 30 days of treatment and 45 percent if they go directly to designated bigger hospitals.
