6. Minimum pay of Beijing workers lifted
The minimum salary for workers in Beijing will be raised to 1,720 yuan ($278), up 9 percent from the previous level. The pay adjustment is aimed at "improving the salary of low-income earners".
At the same time, the pension for retired workers in Beijing will be raised by 10 percent to 3,355 yuan ($541).
