New China artists

China National Academy of Painting is carrying out an oral history project, which collects information and interviews 60 prominent artists.

The project focuses on artists who are older than 70 and whose works influenced on New China's social development. There are artists from different categories, such as oil painter Jin Shangyi, print master Li Qun, sculptor Liu Huanzhang and comic artist He Youzhi. A documentary based on gathered materials is airing on CCTV's Road to Discovery channel.
