Spirit of revolution

A retrospective exhibition to celebrate Luo Yingqiu's upcoming centennial will display his printed works which were created over 70 years. A native of Guangdong province, Luo (1914-2006) engaged in the New Woodcut Movement, initiated by the writer and scholar Lu Xun in the 1930s. His early woodcut prints were vivid portraits of the hardships of the underprivileged, and showed the spirit of revolution. His creations after the founding of New China focused more on the idyllic.

Opening times: 9 am-5 pm, no entrance after 4 pm, Aug 5-14. National Art Museum of China, 1 Wusi Dajie Road, Dongcheng district, Beijing. 010- 6400-1476.
