The concert was conducted by Long Yu of the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra. Wu Tong (standing foreground), a noted sheng player and founding member of the Silk Road Ensemble in China, also joined the performance, which was the fourth Chinese New Year concert by the New York Philharmonic.
