One Belt and One Road Long March for Expo Milano 2015, aimed at revisiting the ancient Silk Road, will see artists, documentary filmmakers and others embark on an extended road trip from Shanghai to Milan, Italy, organizers announced on Aug 8. The campaign is jointly hosted by China Art Association, CCTV documentary film studios and Defeng Lida Group.

As part of the campaign, artists from China and abroad will collaborate to create a huge scroll, 45-meters long, to commemorate the 45th anniversary of Sino-Italian diplomatic relations.

To introduce Chinese culture, the march will also host various theme events in Rome, Venice and Milan.

One Belt and One Road is an initiative launched by President Xi Jinping, promoting domestic and overseas cooperation as well as pushing forward reform and opening-up.

Expo 2015 is ongoing in Milan through Oct 31, with the theme of "Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life".
