Deduction: From Writing to Concept is a calligraphic exhibition at which artists are getting rid of traditional teachings of calligraphy and bringing an experimental look to Chinese characters.

The highly personal styles of writing on show will shift the viewers' attention away from the specific meaning of characters. Instead, artists are building a new connection between writing and a globalized, digital world.

Participating artists include Gu Wenda, Inoue Yuichi and Wei Ligang.

The exhibition is held at the Soka Art Beijing inside 798 art district, through Aug 7.
