Nanjing ushers in sand painting competition

Sand painting is also called "art on the fingertips". Artists use sand to create marvelous pictures accompanied by light and music.

The first international sand painting competition featuring idyllic life was held in Nanjing, East China's Jiangsu province, on Dec 3. The competition solicited contributions from September and more than one hundred artists registered to take part in the event. Fifty sand painting artists entered the final competition and brought a feast of art.
