American pop group Backstreet Boys celebrated its 20th anniversary by launching its global tour in Beijing on May 25, 2013.
"This is our biggest show to date that we bring to China. We have raised the production to another level," said Howie Dorough, a founding member of the vocal group.
China was selected as the first country to experience the group's In a World Like This tour as members of the pop group were excited to sing in the Middle Kingdom once again. All of their greatest hits from the past were performed on stage to an overwhelming audience.
Following their Beijing stop, BSB will perform in other Chinese cities, including Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Nanjing, Fuzhou and Changsha.
The group's latest studio release In a World like This will be available on July 30, said Kevin Richardson, leader of the well-known boy band.
During an exclusive interview with China Daily, the group revealed how excited the original five members were to be singing together once again. The group also talked about what inspires them and where they think their musical style is heading.
