Crash kills one, injures 12
A vehicle collision in Shanghai on Thursday has left one dead and a dozen others injured.
The accident happened at about 1 pm, when a passenger bus collided with a truck at an intersection on Chongming Island in Shanghai, according to witnesses and local police.
One person was pronounced dead, and another seriously injured person was airlifted to a downtown hospital.
Yunnan
Six people die in store blaze
Six people died when fire broke out at a store in Yunnan province early Thursday, the local fire brigade has announced.
Flames engulfed a community store at 3 am in Guandu district in Kunming, the provincial capital, according to a news release from the provincial public security bureau's fire prevention arm.
It added that police have yet to identify the dead and pinpoint the cause of the fire.
The fire site was a two-story structure of cement and brick, with a store on the first floor and apartments for lease on the second floor.

Spacecraft ready to launch
A Long March-2F carrier rocket was recently delivered to the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in Northwest China, a spokesman with the country's manned space program said on Thursday.
The Long March-2F, a rocket designed by the China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology that will be used for the upcoming launch of the Shenzhou IX manned spacecraft, has undergone technical advancements to improve its reliability and safety, the spokesman said.
Assembly and tests will be carried out for the rocket after its arrival, he said.
The Shenzhou IX was sent to the launch center on April 9, and preparations for its manned rendezvous and docking mission are under way, the spokesman said.
Xinjiang
Toxic gas leaves five dead
At least five people are dead after a toxic gas leak in a workshop near the hangar of an airport in Urumqi, capital of Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, local authorities said on Wednesday.
The accident took place at about 7:20 pm in a nitrogen production workshop of a business near the Urumqi Diwopu International Airport, a spokesman with the Xinjiang regional work safety bureau said.
The five dead include business workers, airline crew and medical workers, the spokesman said.
