38,000 Yuan
The average spending per household in China was 38,000 yuan ($5,960) in 2011, an increase of 5,710 yuan over 2010, according to a report released on Sunday by the Institute of Social Science Survey of Peking University. The expenditure on food spending for each household in 2011 saw an increase of 2,287 yuan, accounting for 40 percent of the average spending increase of the year.
