Dilemma for mothers
I'm a mother and like to take my child to go to cinema. Now it's the summer vacation and there are lots of fun films for children. Unfortunately most of them are in 3D.
Doctors say 3D films can harm children's eyesight. So it's really a dilemma for us mothers: whether to take our children to see 3D films or not. We want our children to enjoy films, but not at the cost of their eyesight.
It's time film producers stopped producing children's films in 3D.

Sports face the ax
Comment on "There is no perfect Olympics" (China Daily, Aug 12)
It's difficult to determine a specific nation's overall athletic prowess, given the different emphasis different countries give to different sports. A particular sport might be commonplace in one country, but rare in another. Baseball and softball were removed from the Olympics schedule this year because of an "unfair" advantage enjoyed by my country, the United States. Table tennis and badminton, sports enjoyed by and played competitively at all levels in Asian nations, particularly China, might soon share a similar fate.
