Chinese community organizations in the United States, together with the Chinese business community in the US, call on the Japanese government to: Respect history, acknowledge China's sovereignty over the Diaoyu Islands and cherish the hard-won progress in Chinese-Japanese relations over the past four decades. At such a critical juncture, the wise choice for the Japanese government is to listen to voices of reason from its own people and the international community. Japan's leaders should show wisdom and stop trying to deny the past. We hope that the China-Japan relationship gets back on the right track as soon as possible.
