Buyers and suppliers throughout Asia and the world are marking Oct 20 on their calendars this year because they cannot afford to miss Mega Show Part 1, one of the season's top trade fairs.
More than 3,500 export-ready Asian suppliers will be there displaying the latest in gifts, houseware, toys, luxury items, stationery, gift wrapping, packaging and festive products to more than 43,000 professional buyers.
The 2013 Mega Show Part 1 will run until Oct 23 at the downtown Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in Wanchai.
The well-established exhibition is now in its 22nd year, and it is a top platform for trade in Hong Kong.
More than 4,900 booths will house exhibitors from more than 32 countries, most of which produce their products in Asia. They will present new products to importers, distributors, wholesalers and other buyers from 129 countries.
In light of the fact developed markets are still grappling with the aftermath of the global financial crisis, suppliers and buyers are looking at the coming year with caution.
Many suppliers are adapting their product ranges to attract buyers from emerging markets, and the organizers have heavily geared their promotional efforts toward Latin America, the more affluent African countries and Eastern Europe.
Mega Show Part 1 will present six major product categories - gifts; houseware and home decor; Christmas, festive and seasonal products; toys and games; products for infants and children, and gift wrapping and packaging.
There will be a diverse selection of items from international suppliers, including group pavilions from the Chinese mainland and Taiwan as well as South Korea, Japan, India, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines and Vietnam.
On show will also be a growing range of eco-friendly products under the banner "Go green!"
The clearly defined product sectors that have been part of the show for the past three years have been further enhanced to ensure the exhibit results in the best outcome for buyers and sellers.
Mega Show Part 1 is a proven platform for trade that brings together key global sourcing players in one place every October.
It is recognized as a vital trade show with one of the most comprehensive selections of well-priced products designed and produced in Asia and sold worldwide.
