2.5 trillion yuan
Sales in China's catering industry this year are expected to exceed 2.5 trillion yuan ($408 billion) and register a double-digit growth year-on-year, said Feng Enyuan, executive vice-president of China Cuisine Association, in a Xinhua News Agency report on Wednesday. The development of the industry will rely more on catering services for everyday customers, Feng said, after the central government called for a more frugal approach to spending and curbed the use of public funds for catering services in 2012.
