Zhuang has managed to make some friends his age at the event.
Participant Roger Gong says Meng has put a lot of effort into preparing the event, and he is touched by her attention to detail.
"When I took part in the event, memories from my school life flashed back into my mind, the good times and the bad. These memories help me open my heart and to be more truthful with others," Gong says.
Gong posted photos online of the group wearing red scarves, prompting a heated discussion among his friends, who are also interested in joining.
"Nostalgia will remain popular among people born after 1980 and hopefully will unite more like-minded friends to celebrate our collective memory," Gong says.
