After the auditing agencies found financial problems in local government auditing, the legal authorities must investigate and punish the responsible parties if necessary, said an article in the Southern Metropolis Daily (excerpts below).
The State auditing administration reported a number of cases to the State Council and disciplinary authorities after it carried out an audit in 2012. This sparked a storm of controversy.
The auditing authorities should make their findings more transparent to the public. The legal authorities must disclose the results of their investigation.
Many of the cases and problems, related to corruption and graft, are caused by loopholes in the system.
The National People's Congress must pay attention to these cases and carry out necessary reforms.
