Although there are divergences between China and some European countries, both sides should show foresight in dealing with the disputes and frictions arising from those differences. Premier Li Keqiang’s upcoming visit to Europe provides a good opportunity to enhance mutual political trust, says an article in 21st Century Business Herald. Excerpts:

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang will visit the United Kingdom and Greece from June 16 to 21. It will be the first visit by a Chinese premier visit to the UK in three years and Li’s first visit to the region since he took his current post.

The recent economic recovery of Europe is boosting robust trade between the region and China. The three main economies of Europe — the UK, Germany and France — all have close economic and trade ties with China. China is actively promoting its industrialization, informationization, urbanization and agricultural modernization. This will bring about new opportunities and possibilities for cooperation.

The three European economies have advanced technologies and experience in many fields, from which China can learn. Recent cooperation between Germany and China proves such collaborations are mutually beneficial.

Li said last year that China would help Europe as much as it can. China will translate those words into deeds. The expansion of cooperation between China and Greece is a case in point. Sino-EU ties have made great progress from their level of 10 years ago. Li’s visit will continue this positive momentum and benefit both sides.
