Populus euphratica in Luntai county: the most beautiful trees both in appearance and spirits

Most Chinese students' first impression toward populus euphratica came from the textbook, this tree specie is really tough and strong that could survive in any kinds of difficulties, which sets example for human being, encourage them to be determined facing up with obstacles.

In Uigur language, the name of populus euphratica means the most beautiful trees in the world. Most of the populus euphratica grew up in the China, while the 90% of them survive along the northern tarim basin. Luntai county rests in the northern part of this region: Groves of these trees protect this desert area.

Even toughest trees need men's care: currently, 19 management stations have been built in Luntai county, and over 200 forest rangers takes the responsibility.

In recent years, these rangers took amounts of efforts to convince herdsmen who live in the populus euphratica forests to carry out the policy of concede the land to forestry. They've achieved great works: less forest fire, more scientific management and planting. Generation after generation would continue to promote the environment protection, and guard this area.
