Q: How do you expect to perform in 2013?
A: I want it to be a mix of the highlight of 2011 (French Open) and the consistency of 2012 (one title, three finals, one semi and four quarters). I hope to work out my technical adjustments while staying at the top.
Q: Do you still believe you can win another Grand Slam title?
A: There were many people questioning my ability to win a major after the French Open, citing I had a lucky draw. I was overwhelmed and even started to doubt myself at that time. But now I've come out and regained the confidence that I can (win another major).
Q: Have you ever considered cutting back your schedule to maintain your fitness as you get older?
A: I will play 18 tournaments this season, almost the same number as previous years. I don't need to reduce the events as I can still handle the intensity physically.
Q: Will kicking off the new season at a tournament far from Melbourne affect your preparation for the Australian Open?
A: I see it as a positive decision. It's a good arrangement for me. I can stay an extra week at home to check the effects of my winter training and then go to play at Sydney for a final tune-up. Hopefully, I can still improve there.
