GUANGZHOU, China - Former NBA star Yi Jianlian grabbed MVP award to lead the South edge the North 120-117 in the Chinese basketball Association (CBA)'s All-Star game here on Sunday.
"I should attribute the award to my teammates, who kept passing me the ball so I could get so many wide open shots opportunities," Yi said.
Yi scored a game-high 34 points, followed by Zaid Abbas' 30 from Shandong. Stephon Marbury scored 25 for the north.
Liaoning guard Guo Ailun defended technics champion with 39 seconds. Xiralijan from Xinjiang, who collected 21 points in the game, took the three-point title from defending champion Beijing forward Zhu Yanxi. Unknown Zhai Yi of Shanghai claimed the Slam King with a game-high 92 points in total.
